At the AMI show in Leipzig, Volkswagen released their latest version of the camper van, the VW Caddy Maxi Tramper. The Maxi Tramper is based on the Volkswagen Caddy Maxi Life and comes equipped with a removable 2 meter long bed and curtains. A range of options is available. amongst which two different tent attachments, an electric sliding/tilting sunroof, ventilation grilles with insect protection, 7 liter coolbox, a battery saver for midnight reading sessions without draining the car battery and a camping furniture set. A magnetic curtain for the rear door window comes as standard to ward off prying eyes.
The VW Caddy Maxi Tramper is available with a choice of three engines, a 1.6 liter petrol engine producing 102 hp, the 1.9 liter TDI with 105 hp and a range-topping 2.0 liter TDI putting out 140 hp and 320 Nm of torque.
