Volkswagen has announced UK pricing for the upcoming 2010 Golf GTD will start at £21,850 for the three-door, six-speed manual model.
The six-speed manual Golf GTD five-door starts at £22,435 which translates into a modest £585 price increase over the three-door. For an additional £1,305 potential owners can equip their GTD with Volkswagen's highly regarded six-speed DSG automatic transmission.
Under the hood resides a 2.0-liter TDI engine which produces 170 PS and 258 lb-ft of torque, it enables the GTD to run from 0-62 mph in 8.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 138 mph. Models equipped with the six-speed manual boast a combined fuel economy rating of 53.3 mpg and CO2 emissions of 139 g/km, DSG models fair slightly worse as their combined fuel economy is rated at 50.4 mpg and CO2 emissions come in at 147 g/km.
Exterior styling enhancements for the GTD include a GTI front bumper, honeycomb grille inserts, a body-color rear bumper, and unique 17-inch ‘Seattle Black' alloy wheels. The cabin features performance orientated accents such as a flat-bottomed steering wheel, a leather gearshift, and a "tartan" interior.
Set to arrive at UK dealerships on June 22, the Golf GTD is currently available to order at Volkswagen dealers nationwide.
