We can catch a glimpse of the second-generation Audi Virtual Cockpit.
Last week, Audi dropped a short teaser video with the revamped A8 to show off its highly advanced remote parking system. A new clip has now been released and it is also about the fullsize sedan’s tech prowess as it previews the traffic jam pilot system allowing the driver to take his hands off the steering wheel and let the car handle the annoying stop & go traffic. It won’t save you any time while you’re in a gridlock, but at least it’s going to be a tad easier to endure by not having to keep your hands on the wheel at all times.
This new teaser footage reveals more than just that as it also shows a good chunk of the A8’s dashboard, including the second generation of the Audi Virtual Cockpit. While we can’t make out any details at this point, expect the upgraded digital dashboard to feature crisper graphics and quite possibly even more customization options. It will work together with a swanky new infotainment system integrated into the dash as seen in the adjacent video and screenshots.
What the latest teaser doesn’t show is the lower section of the dashboard where we have a feeling there’s going to be a secondary touchscreen to handle the climate control systems. Audi’s Q8 and Q8 Sport concepts had that high-tech look, as did a prototype of the Q8. It would make sense for the company’s range topper to have it first, right?
The A8 being teased here also has the optional rear-seat entertainment system with a pair of screens installed on the backrests of the front seats.
Stepping outside of the car, we can check out the design of the all-LED headlights and also have a good look at the grille adorned with the “Quattro” logo. There’s a lot of chrome on the front bumper and we can also notice the parking sensor on its side, which indicates the car had a self-parking system.
A full reveal is slated to take place on July 11 at the Audi Summit event in Barcelona. Meanwhile, expect more teasers and additional information about Ingolstadt’s highly anticipated new S-Class and 7 Series rival.
P.S. Here is the new Audi A8 in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
