Prices have been announced for the topless Fiat 500 C in the UK. The base Pop model will cost £11,300 OTR and 11 exterior paintwork colours are available.

The UK is the first country in the world to launch the drop-top Fiat 500 C. Timed for the coming northern hemisphere summer, the 500 cabriolet is priced at a minimum of £11,300 OTR to give more people a chance behind the wheel. An electrically-operated canvass roof is what sets this Fiat baby apart from normal versions.

The entry-level specification is the Pop model which comes standard with radio/MP3 player, remote central locking, electric door mirrors and air conditioning. Higher-level Lounge models are specified with extras like ESP, foglamps, rear parking sensors, Fiat's eco:Drive technology, Blue&Me infotainment system and alloy wheels.

One of eleven exterior colours can be chosen by interested buyers to match the roof colours which are either red, black or ivory.

The same engines that run the hard-top are found in the 500 C. They include the 75bhp (56kW) 1.3-litre turbodiesel, 1.2-litre petrol with 69bhp (51kW) and the 100bhp (75kW) 1.4-litre petrol. Coupled with the engines is a manual gearbox or Fiat's Dualogic automatic transmission. A fuel-saving Start&Stop system will be available as well.
