The GT1 Championship Edition is a special package that takes its cue from the Corvette C6.R LeMans racer and offers Corvette buyers the option of looking...well, 'racier' on the road.

The package is available for the Corvette coupe and convertible models as well as the Z06 and was introduced by Chevrolet at the Sebring International Raceway on Friday.

All GT1 Championship editions get the Corvette Racing graphics, including the Jake mascot, ZR1-style body, a leather-wrapped (whatever that means) ebony interior with yellowing stitching, GT1 tags on the seats and dashboard panels, an engine cover, and a windshield banner, which the press release oddly states, is "owner installed." Does that mean it's just a sticker you slap on the windscreen yourself?

The special editions are available in Velocity Yellow or Black, with special VIN sequential numbers for each. Production will be limited to a total of 600, with 100 for each color and model combination.

For the coupe and convertible variants, customers also get the Z51 performance package along with the NPP performance exhaust. Options available for those two models include the MX0 6-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission and the U3U navigation system. The coupe also comes with the option of a C2L dual-roof.
