The new Vauxhall Insignia is a hugely anticipated model and judging by the release of official spy photos, they have been planning a very careful promotional campaign prior to its debut at this years London Motor Show. With this in mind, Vauxhall are likely to be none-to-pleased to discover Dutch site Autoweek.nl has blown the full cover off the new D segment vehicle. The leaked photos show the Insignia badged with the Opel Logo for the European market - but soon enough we should see the Vauxhall version complete with the new 2008 Griffin logo.
The new Insignia comes with a brand new sportier front fascia, a far cry from the conservative design on the outgoing Vectra, the exterior's smooth design lines promote a feeling of elegance and as we follow the overall body shape to the rear of the vehicle, an almost coupe like design strikes out. But before we think there is yet another entry into the four door coupe segment (Mercedes CLS, VW Passat CC), this model is very much a regular four door sedan.
Petrol engines will range from the 1.6 litre to the range topping 250hp 2.8-liter V6, the diesel engines will start at 120hp up to 150hp, and rumours also state there could be a 180 hp 1.9-litre turbo and a 2.9-litre V6 diesel. Further down the line we should also see an OPC version pumping out at least 300 horses.
The New Vauxhall Insignia will be launched in October.
