It may not be a celebration of Silverstone, but Vauxhall are pleased to announce the market of a limited edition model for the ultimate Astra enthusiast. Aiming to commemorate the world-famous Nürburgring on which it was developed, the Astra VXR Nürburgring Edition brings new levels of exclusivity to the hot hatch market. The model brings a pearl white paint finish, lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels and a range of further swanky exclusivities to the table.
Based on the standard VXR, the Nürburgring Edition pays tribute to a circuit, and inparticular its demanding Nordschliefe track, used to perfect driving dynamics since the sixties, while also applauding the customers who've already purchased an Astra from within the VXR and Opel OPC performance brands. Exclusive nameplates, badging and numbering adorn the vehicle from console to Recaro sports seats, but it's the chequered flag body decals that really give the game away.
A lowered, uprated VXR suspension with ESP enhances performance while dynamically, the Nürburgring Edition benefits from lighter alloys and wider tracks front and rear. UK-specced vehicles each gain a Remus Sports Exhaust, co-developed with Vauxhall's BTCC team, for a 15 PS boost in power to 255 PS, enabling acceleration to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds and permitting a 155 mph top speed. Much like the standard car, a six-speed manual gearbox is mated to this special VXR.
Priced from £21,295 on-the-road, the Astra VXR Nürburgring Edition is available to order now.
