The most expensive version available at launch will set you back £50,775.
Hot on the heels of yesterday’s German pricing announcement, the E-Class Coupe is making the headlines once again as Mercedes has published details concerning how much it will cost in U.K. Only three versions are going to be available upon launch, kicking off with the base E 220d available from £40,135. In exchange for your hard-earned money, you’ll be getting a stylish and elegant midsize coupe equipped with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine delivering 194 horsepower and 400 Newton-meters of torque. That’ll be enough to cover the 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint in a decent 7.4 seconds and return 61.4 mpg UK in the combined cycle, which corresponds to 119 g/km of CO2 emissions.
If you would rather have a gasoline engine, the E 300 available from £41,025 will come with a 2.0-liter pushing out 245 hp and 370 Nm. It’s going to be a full second quicker than the diesel in the sprint, but it won’t be able to match its efficiency as the model will return 40.4 mpg and emit 160 g/km.
The strongest E-Class Coupe in U.K. initially will be the E 400 4Matic from £50,775. Underneath its hood resides a larger 3.0-liter V6 with two turbochargers to develop 333 hp and 480 Nm. It will cover the run to 100 kph in a swift 5.3 seconds and will obviously be the least thrifty of the three models, with Mercedes saying it’s going to return 33.6 mpg and emit 189 g/km.
You won’t spend a lot of time figuring out which trim level is the most suitable because there’s only one available: AMG Line. It comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, along with a sports suspension if you opt for the E 300. Mercedes will also throw in heated front seats, 64-color (!) ambient lighting, parking sensors, reversing camera, and an 8.4-inch infotainment with Garmin navigation. The latter is upgraded to a 12.3-inch Comand Online setup if you go for the beefier all-paw E 400 4Matic.
At an additional cost, Mercedes U.K. will be more than happy to add the Premium equipment in exchange for £2,795. It bundles a panoramic sunroof with memory seats and keyless go, while the more expensive Premium Plus kit from £3,895 adds a fancy Burmester surround sound system and the clever Multibeam LED headlights.
Should you want to spend even more, the E-Class Coupe in U.K. flavor can be fitted with an assortment of safety systems part of the £1,695 Driving Assistance package, while the aforementioned Comand Online can be had for an additional £1,495 on the E 220d and E 300 models. The E 400 4Matic’s standard air suspension can also be installed in the other two models for an additional £1,495. Lastly, the all-digital instrument cluster is a £495 option.
Mercedes U.K. is already taking orders for the E-Class Coupe and will start deliveries in April.
