Kids sketch out their visions of the next-generation Odyssey ahead of its Detroit Auto Show debut.
I hope the 2018 Honda Odyssey looks exactly like the sketch above.
The next-generation Odyssey minivan is coming to the 2017 Detroit Auto Show in January – you can see the official rendering just below this paragraph. As for these kids' scribbles, Honda asked members of its Ohio-based Odyssey development team to have their children draw their personal visions for an all-new minivan. The results, as you can see below, are pretty hilarious. I particularly like the blue one, that looks like a weird Dr. Seuss character with a killer overbite.
Honda isn't revealing too much about the new Odyssey just yet. In its official press release, the automaker only confirms the new minivan "will feature new powertrain technology, sophisticated styling, and showcase a new suite of innovative features."
The current Odyssey is one of the best minivans in the class, and is holding up pretty well, even after several years on the market. But with the new-kid-on-the-block Chrysler Pacifica garnering attention with its modern amenities and hybrid powertrain, there's certainly room for Honda to improve.
We'll know exactly how the next-generation Odyssey plans to compete when it bows on Monday, January 9. For now, click through the press blast below to read Honda's official words, and definitely check out the kids' sketches in the gallery. They're great.
