This handsome Honda sports car could be yours if the price is right.
For $156,000 and change, you could pick up a brand-new NSX supercar. It's an impressive machine. A 3.5-liter hybrid V6 pumps out an monstrous 573 horsepower (427 kilowatts) and propels you to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in just about 3.1 seconds. Question is, why would you waste your life savings on a new NSX? The market is currently alive with original examples from the ‘90s and 2000s that are, arguably, just as much fun to drive?
Case in point, this particular example – a 1991 JDM import – is up for sale on eBay with a current bid of $23,100 per this writing. Apart from a few noticeable upgrades to the exterior, it features a factory 3.0-liter V6 good for 270 horsepower (201 kilowatts) and just 85,000 original miles (136,700 kilometers). Oh, and did I mention it’s right-hand drive?
As far as upgrades are concerned, an aftermarket Taitec GT009 exhaust was fitted, along with a Zeal adjustable coil over suspension, a Recaro driver’s seat, a Nardi sport steering wheel, and a new set of Weds Sport SA wheels, 215/35/18 front and 265/30/19 rear. The only major mechanical revision comes by way of the transmission – the owner swapping out the original five-speed for a later-model six-speed.
Though we don’t get a peek at the interior, the exterior looks like it’s in great condition. The original Formula Red exterior shines like it did new nearly 25-years ago, and an enhanced wing accents the already handsome rear end.
It's a handsome car, and one of the few JDM examples currently available for sale in the U.S. If you’re looking to add it to your collection, just four days are left on the auction, so get to biddin’.
