A fancy grey matte paint is available as an option to spruce things up.

Should you find the regular S-Class Coupe not special enough and at the same time you don’t want to bother with the configurator, Mercedes is proposing a Night Edition fitted with numerous dark accents.  These start on the outside where the radiator grille has a high-gloss black finish also noticeable on the 20-inch AMG wheels featuring a high-sheen rim flange. The side mirror caps along with the inserts in the side sill panels have received a similar treatment, while for extra sportiness the front and rear aprons wearing AMG’s signature come as standard.

To further set it apart from the regular model, Mercedes will slap on a “Night Edition” badge on the front wings and will give buyers the option of a matte paint officially known as “selenite grey magno” incorporating special pigments for extra effect.

The company with the three-pointed star logo isn’t ready just yet to show us the lavish cabin, but it does say “Night Edition” has been engraved on the insert of the AMG steering wheel covered in nappa leather. In addition, the door sills are illuminated with the “Mercedes-Benz” lettering and you can have the seats upholstered in leather, nappa leather or AMG nappa leather in multiple color combinations if the standard black/black look won’t be to your liking. Options include combos such as saddle brown/black, crystal grey/black, and Bengal red/black, with a high-gloss black poplar wood trim rounding off the changes on the inside.

Celebrating its world debut next month at NAIAS in Detroit, the Mercedes S-Class Coupe Black Edition is going to be available on order in S400 4Matic, S500, and S500 4Matic flavors from January 9. Europeans will get it from April while U.S. buyers will have to wait until August.

From April 2017: Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupé "Night Edition": Exclusive coupé now even more exclusive

Stuttgart. Mercedes-Benz is extending its range of exclusive special models now with the S‑Class Coupé: the "Night Edition" will enter the European market in April 2017, with a US launch following in August 2017. This exceptional two-door model will be available to order as a S 400 4MATIC Coupé, S 500 Coupé and S 500 4MATIC Coupé with effect from 9 January 2017. The "Night Edition" model will celebrate its world premiere at the Detroit auto show in January 2017.

The very special exterior equipment details of the S‑Class Coupé "Night Edition" include its distinctive radiator grille with a single louvre in high-gloss black, together with 20‑inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels. The exclusive wheels are painted black and feature a high-sheen rim flange. The exterior mirror housings and the inserts in the side sill panels are likewise in high-gloss black. Front and rear aprons with AMG bodystyling come as standard, as do the "Night Edition" badge on the front wings and the illuminated door sills with Mercedes-Benz lettering. Paintwork in selenite grey magno is available as an option. This is a matt paint finish from the designo manufaktur range and features particularly high-quality special-effect pigments.

One of the exclusive features in the interior is the engraved "Night Edition" name on the insert of the AMG sports steering wheel in nappa leather. Upholstery in leather, nappa leather or AMG nappa leather in black/black or optionally crystal grey/black, saddle brown/black or Bengal red/black, along with high-gloss black poplar wood trim, similarly serve to emphasise the car's individual character.

Boasting a stylish appearance, exclusive equipment and refined sportiness, the S‑Class Coupé combines the classic proportions of a Gran Turismo with modern luxury and state-of-the-art technology. The "Night Edition" is available in three different engine variants, as a S 400 4MATIC Coupé, S 500 Coupé or S 500 4MATIC Coupé.
