Two hundred of them are in a limited-edition gloss black, but act quick because all of these tchotchkes are available first-come, first-serve.

Nissan isn’t yet stopping its promotional tie-up with the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but the latest trinket would align your keys with the dark side. The company’s dealers across the United States are receiving 200,000 keychains that depict the Death Trooper helmet from the film. They’re free to anyone who stops by the showrooms on a first-come, first-served basis.

Nissan Star Wars Keychain

The marketing tactic is as clever as the plan to attack the Death Star. The company is offering a free stocking stuffer around the holidays that promotes a film that’s likely to be a big hit with kids. Mom or dad walk into the dealer to pick up a keychain, and maybe a few of them leave in a Maxima or Murano.

To sweeten the offer a little more, 200 them are limited-edition versions of the keychain with a high-gloss finish. Since the odds of getting this variant is just one-in-1000, the folks that get one of these should feel quite lucky.

Nissan announced the promotional partnership in August and has been slowly rolling out Star-Wars-themed marketing. For example, fans of a galaxy far, far away can buy a Nissan Rogue: Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition with a horde of the movie’s emblems and either a Magnetic Black or Glacier White exterior. Each of the special crossovers comes with a full-sized version of the Death Trooper helmet.

Rogue One

When Nissan debuted the Star Wars Edition Rogue at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, the automaker brought a full-sized TIE Fighter to the event. It actually overshadowed the Rogue below it because the spaceship just looked so amazing there. Motor1 even picked the craft as one of our favorite vehicles at the show.
