Unfortunately, it will cost you $1.9 million and it's only for the track.

Similar to Jaguar and AC, Aston Martin has announced that it will produce a limited continuation run of one of its most iconic cars – the DB4 G.T. Originally produced from 1959 to 1963, just 75 examples of the touring car were built, and cost around £5,000 ($6,288) when new.

Unfortunately, the company won’t be letting them go for such a bargain this time. Just 25 examples of the continuation model will be built, each at a cost of £1.5 million ($1.9 million). They’ll all be slated for track use exclusively, so don’t expect to see them on the road. The new cars will wear a special VIN number, picking up from where the 1963 models left off.

Under the bonnet will be a Tadek Marek-designed straight six-cylinder engine pumping out a hearty 331 horsepower (246 kilowatt). Each one will be paired to a four-speed David Brown manual gearbox, and ride on a tubular frame with an independent front suspension.

Apart from the engines, each one of these cars will be re-built "from scratch," relying on the DB11’s supplier for castings, and featuring just a handful of modern elements like an FIA-spec roll cage, a fire extinguisher, and seat belts. Total curb weight will be just 2,706 pounds (1,227 kilograms).

Though the cars will be used exclusively on the track, buyers will be able to take advantage of an international driving program under the instruction of Aston Martin’s dedicated driver training team. The program spans two years and visits some of the most prestigious tracks around the world, including Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi.

"Combining the authenticity of a hand-crafted David Brown era car with sympathetic application of modern engineering advancements and performance enhancements, the DB4 G.T. Continuation is a fusion of classic design and contemporary methods."

Each car will be built by hand at the Aston Martin Works facility at Newport Pagnell in the U.K. Deliveries will begin the third quarter of 2017.
