Everybody loves a good giveaway and perfumer Paco Rabanne is staging a very good giveaway this holiday season. Well, it’s very good if you like bright gold Fiat 500s. And live in Italy.
Anyway, Paco Rabanne teamed up with automotive atelier Garage Italia Customs to create a one-off Fiat 500. As you can see, it is finished in bright-as-the-midday-sun gold, with black roof, pinstriping, and “Paco Rabanne” branding. The golden finish has been applied to the wheels and grille, as well.
The gold theme continues inside, with a dashboard facia that will surely be blindingly bright in direct sunlight. The piping on the leather upholstery is gold, too, as is the gear shift gaiter.
Otherwise, the 500 by Paco Rabanne appears to be a standard, high-spec Lounge model, probably powered by the 105 horsepower (78 kilowatts), 0.9-liter, turbocharged, twin-cylinder TwinAir motor.
So how do you get your hands on it? Simply buy a bottle of Paco Rabanne 1 Million or Lady Million fragrance - which is finished in gold with black detailing - during December and register at the website. The car is on display on Via Dante in Milan, Italy until December 23.
Fiat itself has, of course, teamed up with several fashion and lifestyle brands to produce special edition versions of the 500, including Gucci, Diesel, Ron Arad, and GQ. There have been others “inspired” by Ferrari, Maserati, and boat builder Riva, as well.
Interestingly, Garage Italia’s usually highly visible chief Lapo Elkann was nowhere to be seen as the 500 by Paco Rabanne was unveiled. Just a few weeks ago he was arrested in New York for allegedly faking his own kidnapping after a drink and drug-fueled weekend of partying. It will be some time before the Fiat heir’s family allows him to be seen in public again, no doubt.
