The new Pilot SUV will be a centerpiece of the Georgia dream home.

Sorry GMC, but Honda has taken over as the exclusive automotive partner of HGTV’s Dream Home for 2017. The new Pilot SUV will replace the outgoing Acadia and better accent the upscale, Southern-style, 3,200-square-foot home.

As part of the partnership, the Pilot will be a mainstay of the Simons Island, Georgia-based home when the giveaway airs on January 1, 2017. It will be featured in a 30-second custom vignette that showcases the vehicle, and is intended to kick off the sweepstakes. Along with the dream home and the new Pilot, one lucky winner will walk away with $250,000 in straight cash.

"Creating big dreams for our customers is at the core of the Honda brand and combining our Honda Pilot, the ultimate modern family SUV with the ultimate dream home from HGTV, makes for an impactful partnership and one incredible prize package for one lucky family," said Susie Rossick, assistant vice-president of Honda Auto marketing.

This year marks the 21st anniversary of the event, and the first time a Honda has been featured as a sponsor as opposed to longtime GMC. The three-row SUV, which features a 3.5-liter 280-horsepower (208-kilowatt) V6, is said to accent the three-bedroom, three-bath with its "versatility and utility," and seating for up to eight passengers.

The sweepstakes will officially kick off on December 28, 2016, with the HGTV special – featuring the Honda Pilot – airing on January 1, 2017.
