Automakers are taking a small break from their busy schedules to join in on the Mannequin Challenge fun.
The Mannequin Challenge is slowly but surely becoming the next Internet sensation much like the Ice Bucket Challenge was a couple of years ago. More and more videos with people remaining frozen in action much like mannequins are invading our social media channels on a daily basis and it seems the car world is also hopping on the bandwagon.
Case in point, Aston Martin Racing has released a short, but fun video with its own take on the Mannequin Challenge recorded during this weekend’s FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Bahrain endurance race. Aston Martin managed to grab the drivers’ title in the GTE-Pro division with the #95 car driven by Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen after the two secured their second win of the season. As for the #97 car in the hands of Jonathan Adam and Darren Turner, it grabbed fifth place in its class at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.
Nissan’s premium marque Infiniti decided to come up with its own Mannequin Challenge video recorded at the ongoing 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. The clip starts off with the very special Q60 Neiman Marcus Edition, a $63,000 model carrying a premium of $12,000 over the Red Sport 400 upon which it’s based. Limited to only 50 units, the car stands out thanks to its golden Solar Mica paint job.
Also featured in Infiniti’s Mannequin Challenge video is the QX Sport Inspiration originally introduced in April at the Beijing Motor Show before being lightly updated for last month’s Paris Motor Show. The concept serves as a sneak preview for the next-generation QX50 expected to arrive in the years to come to replace the current model, which has been on sale since 2013.
