Bologna sees the reveal of the new 2009 Golf Plus, Mk VI. VW is hoping the bigger Golf will move more units than previously where sales targets were not met.

Volkswagen Golf V Plus wasn't exactly a sales hit in the UK, managing only 25,111 units against the normal car's 307,862. A target of 25 percent of Golf hatch sales had been set, and obviously not met. VW plans to improve greatly upon this as it reveals the larger Golf VI Plus at the Bologna Motor Show.

Leading the charge towards greater sales numbers will be the car's sportier look, personified in narrower headlights, a lower profile as well as redesigned roof rails. The car's interior remains the same as the original hatchback.

Engines will mimic for the most part, those of the hatch, such as 2.0-litre TDI, 1.4 TSI and others. For prices we'll have to wait until VW makes an announcement during spring 2009.
