Honda has announced the start of sales for their all-new Honda Odyssey in Japan on Friday. Not to be confused with the Odyssey model sold in other international markets, this fourth generation features a low-floor/center-of-gravity design that enables a low profile roofline and handling dynamics beyond typical minivans while still providing a spacious cabin.

The new Odyssey is also equipped with advanced safety technologies including the new Multi-view Camera System, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and Collision Mitigation Brake System (CMBS).

Inside the seating arrangement follows a V-shaped layout for the first to third-row positions allowing all passengers a clear view forward. Furthermore, a variety of seating arrangements are possible with just a single action. The second-row seats feature a three-way split back that allows the left, right, and center seat backs to be independently folded down while the third-row seats fold down into the floor creating a flat level cargo area.

Power output for the 2.4L DOHC i-VTEC engine is available in 127kW (173 PS) and 222 Nm of torque for all trim levels except the sporting top-of-the-range Absolute package which is 151kW (206 PS) and 232Nm of torque. Transmission is a drive-by-wire torque converter-equipped CV
