Remember when the P1 GTR was supposed to be for track use only? McLaren remembers; but it seems like lately more street-legal versions have been popping up for sale on the used market. Naturally, they don’t come cheap, and this all-black-everything example that recently showed up in the classifieds is further proof of that.
For the price of $4.36 million (€3.99 million), this absurdly expensive, ridiculously fast, insanely pretty street-legal McLaren P1 GTR can be yours. It’s listed for sale on Automobile.fr — but if you want it, you’ll have to travel to the Netherlands to get it.
Of course, you’ll find the same powerplant on this one that you will on any other P1 GTR. Under the bonnet is a 3.8-liter biturbo V8 hybrid setup that produces 986 horsepower (725 kilowatts) at full tilt — that makes it 83-horsepower (61-kilowatts) quicker than the standard P1. Thanks in part to to dat massive rear wing, the P1 GTR is also able to deliver 1,455 pounds (660 kilograms) of downforce at 150 mph (241 kmh), making it a true performer on the circuit.
Just 45 examples of this ludicrous machine will ever been built by McLaren, and like others that have been converted to road use, it first had to go through British conversion specialists Levante Racing. There’s no word on exactly how many have already been converted or will be converted to road use, but given the amount that have recently shown up for sale, there is no doubt the demand is high.
If you’re looking for a P1 that’s a bit on the cheaper side though, might I suggest the recently released all-electric version.
