Hennessey upgraded the Shelby GT350 with 808 horsepower and put it to the test on the dyno.
Hennessey has a reputation for making fast things even faster. Way faster. In keeping with that theme, the Texas tuner’s latest victim is the brand new Ford Mustang Shelby GT350. With 526 horsepower (392 kilowatts) available from the pony car stock, Hennessey got to work on upping the insanity factor to 11.
The final result was 808 horsepower (602 kilowatts) and 657 pound-feet (890 newton-meter) of torque courtesy of an upgraded 2.9-liter supercharger. From a dead stop, it will hit 60 mph (96 kmh) in just 3.3 seconds and conquer the quarter mile in just 10.8 seconds at 133 mph (214 kmh).
Aside from the massive new supercharger, Hennessey made sure to tack on some forged steel connecting rods, a carbon fiber high-flow air induction system, upgraded fuel injectors, an upgraded fuel pump, and carbon fiber coilpack covers… for good measure.
As far as aesthetics are concerned, not much has been done — not that it needs to be. Some exterior badging to denote the new supercharger, lightweight forged wheels, and floor mats are all that differentiate the looks of this Hennessy-tuned Shelby Mustang from your run-of-the-mill factory version.
Only 50 examples of this powerful Mustang will be built, but before they are, the Hennessey crew made sure to put its upgraded performance to the test on the dyno. Watch the video and see just how insane this new Mustang is for yourself.
