It's a surprisingly laborious task, ensuring the perfect finish on a new car.

SEAT has revealed some of the secrets of its paint shop with a series of insightful pictures from the Arona SUV assembly line at Martorell in Spain.

These areas of car factories are strictly controlled, the one place on the line that you’re not allowed to see during the tour. This is because of the chance that outside contaminants might affect the final finish on a new car – it would be a disaster for a car maker if it put all that effort into designing and engineering a new vehicle only for the final product to be ruined by some dust from outside.
