2015 Lamborghini Cabrera hits the Ring

The Lamborghini Gallardo successor has been spied undergoing testing on the Nürburgring in Germany.

These are the first clear spy shots of the Cabrera (naming not confirmed) which can't come soon enough taking into consideration the Gallardo has been on the market for a decade. It will share its underpinnings with the second-gen Audi R8 (due in 2016) and will likely use an uprated naturally-aspirated V10 5.2-liter engine churning somewhere in the region of 600 bhp (447 kW) so the car's full name will probably be Cabrera LP600-4.

The regular model will have a four-wheel drive setup, but Lamborghini has already said special/limited editions will get a rear-wheel drive arrangement. Power will be transferred to the road with help from a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The new bull is expected to have a curb weight of less than 1,500 kg (3,306 lbs) and should blend in some of the styling cues seen on the Sesto Elemento and Aventador. The car will make extensive use of aluminum combined with carbon fiber and fiberglass for a lighter package worthy of the Lamborghini badge.
