2015 Audi Q7 spied in Europe

The 2015 Audi Q7 has been spied undergoing testing in southern Europe.

Caught heavily disguised, the model appears to have an evolutionary design with a prominent grille that is flanked by LED-infused headlights. We can also see a sloping roofline, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and a dual exhaust system.

Earlier reports indicated the model would ride on an extended version of the Volkswagen Touareg / Porsche Cayenne platform, but more recent ones have suggested it will use the new MLB architecture that will be shared with the Lamborghini Urus, the Bentley crossover and the next-generation Touareg / Cayenne. This change could enable the model to weigh up to 363 kg (800 lbs) less than its predecessor.

Engine options remain unconfirmed but likely candidates include a 3.0-liter V6 TFSI with 310 HP (228 kW) and a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 TFSI with 435 HP (320 kW). On the diesel side, we can expect a 3.0-liter V6 TDI with 258 HP (190 kW) and a 4.2-liter V8 TDI with 385 HP (283 kW). There have also been rumors about a plug-in hybrid variant that could use the aforementioned 3.0-liter TDI and a 115 HP (84 kW) electric motor.
