The North American International Auto Show is six months away but a new report is indicating the 2015 Corvette Z06 could debut in Detroit.

Citing a reliable source, Jalopnik says the Corvette Z06 and C7.R race car will debut together at an upcoming auto show. The website goes on to speculate that both models will debut in the Motor City.

Little is known about the Z06 but previous reports have indicated it could keep its naturally-aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine. While the current model produces 505 bhp (377 kW), rumors suggest the new Z06 could have up to 600 bhp (447 kW) which would make it 38 bhp (24 kW) less powerful than the outgoing ZR1. If these numbers pan out, the model could easily accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 3.7 seconds.
