Acura has announced plans to introduce a 2014 MDX prototype at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Designed to preview the production model, the crossover will have an "Aero Sculpture" design which promises to blend "alluring proportions with smooth, arching body lines." As such, the model will have an evolutionary design with an angular front bumper, a smaller grille and prominent air intakes. We can also see bulging fenders, a creased hood and a sloping roofline.
There's no word on technical specifications, but the MDX is expected to use a 3.5-liter V6 engine that develops 310 bhp (231 kW) and 272 lb-ft (368 Nm) of torque. There could also be a hybrid variant which has the aforementioned V6 engine and three electric motors for a combined output of 370 hp (276 kW).
