According to a recent report, Opel and Vauxhall are considering OPC and VXR variants of the Adam.
Envisioned to battle the Fiat 500 Abarth, the model would likely be equipped with an aggressive body kit, a sport-tuned suspension and a revised interior.
Power could be provided by a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that develops 192 HP (141 kW) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque. Chief engineer Dieter Metz hinted at this possibility by mentioning "The [Adam's] chassis can handle the power up to a current Corsa VXR."
Regardless of whether or not variants get approved for production, Metz revealed the city car will be offered with a new turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine. He also confirmed to Piston Heads one variant will develop less than 100 HP (74 kW) while another will develop more than 100 HP (74 kW).
