2013 Mercedes A-Class caught completely undisguised [video]

Dutch cycling club OGOTT caught the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz A-Class completely undisguised during a cycling tour on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. The occassion was a photo shoot most likely for promotional materials to be distributed once the vehicle has its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Thankfully, the cyclist had a GoPro action cam mounted to his handlebars to show us the details.

In the video we can see all of the front end. Looking quite close to the B-Class, the headlamps are infused with LEDs and the grille has a single wing design as previously seen in the A-Class concept. The front bumper is quite aggressive looking, and combined with AMG wheels we're inclined to believe this is an AMG sport package.

Recently, Mercedes released a teaser video promoting a scavenger hunt contest called A-Class QR-Trophy. Certainly, this spy video puts a crimp in the remainder of the vehicle's teaser campaign.

As we have previously reported, the 2012 A-Class will ride on the new MFA platform which also underpins the B-Class. Engine options will likely carryover from its bigger brother, so expect five petrols with outputs ranging from 109 PS (80 kW / 108 hp) to 204 PS (150 kW / 201 hp). There should also be four diesels with 122 PS (90 kW / 120 hp) to 204 PS (150 kW / 201 hp).
