The closest thing to a flagship Turbo S model.

Porsche isn’t willing just yet to introduce a Macan Turbo S to the world, but at least from now on buyers will be able to opt for the next best thing. Meet the optional Performance Package which ups the power ante over the regular Turbo model by 40 hp (29 kW) and 36 lb-ft (49 Nm) to a grand total of 440 hp (324 kW) and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm). Output is delivered by the same biturbo 3.6-liter V6 which has received a different calibration to squeeze more power.

As a result of the output hike, the Porsche Macan Turbo with the Performance Package will need only 4.2 seconds to cover the 0-60 mph (0-96 kph) sprint, thus making it 0.2s quicker than the regular model. The upgraded engine is also paying dividends in terms of top speed which has increased by 5 mph (8 kph) to 169 mph (272 kph).

You’ll be happy to hear there’s more to the optional kit than the beefier powertrain, as Porsche will also throw in a lowered sport chassis, new brakes, the Sport Chrono Package, and a sport exhaust system. In order to match the increased power, the grooved brake discs mounted at the front axle have grown in diameter by 30 mm (1.1 inches) to 390 mm (15.3 inches) and are coupled to six-piston calipers featuring a red finish. The powered-up Macan will sit 10 mm (0.4 inches) lower than the normal Turbo model and is going to be available with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system bundling an air suspension.

Porsche is also welcoming a new Turbo Exterior Package which adds glossy black 21-inch wheels like the ones on the 911 Turbo. Also part of the deal are the adaptive LED headlights along with numerous enhancements for the interior, including black leather upholstery with Alcantara accents, carbon-like elements, and new door entry guards with the model logo lit up in white.

In the U.S., the Porsche Macan Turbo with Performance Package is already available on order and it will set you back $86,445 MSRP, whereas in Germany it kicks off at €91,142. For the sake of comparison, the regular Macan Turbo begins at $76,000 MSRP in U.S. and from €83,753 on its home turf.
