Big on the outside, cavernous on the inside.

We are only a few hours away from the Kodiaq’s official reveal in Berlin, but some folks have decided to break the embargo and show the seven-seater SUV in all of its glory. We already had several official images of the massive interior, and now we also get to see the exterior design which unsurprisingly resembles the VisionS concept shown in Geneva a few months ago.

The 4.7-meter-long Kodiaq adopts a sharp design in the same vein as the Superb and should look quite imposing on the road given its sheer size. Like pretty much all Skodas on sale today, the new SUV will be the most practical model in its class, capable of swallowing 2,165 liters (76.4 cubic feet) of your luggage in the five-seat version with the rear seats folded. If you have more than three kids, an optional seven-seat model is going to be available at an additional cost. The new images with the interior are once again showing the next-gen infotainment system and we also get to see the wireless charging functionality for which you’ll have to pay extra.

Being a member of the MQB family, it means the Kodiaq will be available with an assortment of four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, all of which will obviously be turbocharged. It’s pretty much safe to say the bread and butter of the range is going to be the very familiar 2.0 TDI which will be available in 150 hp (110 kW) & 252 lb-ft (340 Nm) and 190 hp (140 kW) & 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) flavors. Should you want to go for a gasoline engine, Skoda will sell the big SUV with a 1.4 TSI and a 2.0 TSI. Depending on selection, both manual and DSG transmissions are going to be offered, along with a choice of a front-wheel-drive layout or a grippy AWD setup.

Check back later today for full info about Skoda’s first-ever SUV with seven seats that is programmed to go on sale towards the end of the year.
