Another year, another F1 game from Codemasters. The latest title aims to be the most immersive so far.

Being the official video game of the FIA Formula One World Championship, it means that everything you see on TV or live at the track has a virtual correspondent in the game. If you really have a lot of spare time, new for 2016 is an extended career mode spanning up to ten seasons. While in our review of the 2015 title we complained about the lack of a safety car and virtual safety car, the good news is both have been implemented in the new game.

Looking at the trailer, we do seem to notice the graphics aren’t exactly a major improvement compared to the previous title, but F1 2016 does have some new features to spice things up. For example, there’s a time of the day editor and the possibility to opt for manual race starts and manual pit lane entry to make it feel even more like the real thing. Codemasters has also added the formation lap in which you’ll warm up the tires to the optimal temperatures in order to improve your chances of a successful start.

F1 2016 also welcomes newcomer Haas F1 Team for the full roster of 22 drivers and 11 teams, as well as the brand new Baku circuit in Azerbaijan part of the entire 21-track calendar.

The game is already out and you can grab it for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
