Filippo Perini to be inducted this Saturday.
Filippo Perini, former Lamborghini design director, is to be inducted into the Hall of Fame of Concorso Italiano. The event, which celebrates all things automotive from Italy, takes place Saturday, August 20, in Monterey, California. Perini will receive the “La Bella Machina” prize from the Concorso Italiano for his influence on Italian car design.
“For me it is a great pleasure, a great honor and also a great responsibility to receive this award. Being designated along with very big names in the automotive world and true icons of car design is a very significant result,” Perini said in a statement.
Perini, born in 1965, worked as a freelance automotive designer for several Italian companies, including Fiat and Aprilia. He joined Audi AG as Exterior Designer in 2003 and was subsequently appointed Lamborghini Head of Exterior Design. Perini worked on several major Lamborghini projects, including the Miura concept, Murciélago LP 640, Gallardo, and Concept S. In 2009 he joined Automobili Lamborghini to work in the Centro Stile, and had involved with the Gallardo LP 570-4, Reventón, and Aventador. In September 2015, Perini left to join Italian design studio Italdesign.
This weekend, Perini will also serve as an honoray judge at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
