Will appear at The Quail in California.
Seems like the Bugatti Chiron has been absolutely everywhere since its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Monaco, Le Mans, the Goodwood Festival of Speed; all over the place. A few have even been spotted in the United States, but it will finally make its official U.S. debut later today on the Bugatti booth at The Quail in California.
According to Bugatti, over 200 orders have been taken for the Chiron so far, around 30 per cent of those from U.S. buyers. The car on display isn’t quite the finished article, but it’s as close as has yet been seen Stateside.
The Chiron is powered by an 8.0-liter, W16 engine with no less than four turbos, churning out 1500 horsepower. Top speed will reportedly be limited to 261 miles-per-hour on customer cars in the interests of preserving the tires. That’s 3 mph faster than the record-breaking Veyron Super Sport managed uncorked. Rumor is the Chiron could reach the heady heights of 280 mph when Bugatti unshackles it for an attempt to break its own top speed record.
For now, though, let’s just drink in these images of it looking stunning under the Monterey sun. The styling may not be to everyone’s taste, but there’s no denying it makes an impact.
