Ingolstadt's baby crossover gets 19-inch wheels, among other upgrades.
Audi is taking a page from Mercedes-Benz’ playbook by doing an Edition #1 of a brand new product. While the ones from Mercedes are available only during the first 12 months of production, Audi isn’t saying for how long it will offer the special edition which comes with an assortment of visual upgrades and a more generous list of standard equipment.
The petite city-oriented crossover gets a set of 19-inch wheels featuring the familiar five-arm rotor design seen on many of the brand’s performance models. All cars are going to be sold with standard LED headlights and taillights, with the latter featuring those fancy dynamic turn signals that look cool especially during the night.
The Q2 Edition #1 has received the S line exterior package adding sportier bumpers and side sills, along with a rear diffuser and black side mirror caps. Some of the add-on parts in the lower area of the body are finished in Manhattan gray to complement the vehicle’s exclusive quantum gray paint finish.
Interestingly, back in March we shared a real photo of a Q2 in Copenhagen and as it turns out the image was actually showing this very same model with the exact same license plate.
Photos of the interior have not been released, but Audi says the model will feature height-adjustable sport seats finished in black and amaretto leather. A multifunction steering wheel clad in leather will also be standard, along with illuminated aluminum door sills with the ‘S’ logo. An ambient lighting package with LEDs is also part of the deal and should create a cozy atmosphere while driving at night.
Audi will start taking orders for the Q2 Edition #1 early next month and will sell the special version with all the engines of the regular model. The tiny crossover is bound to reach dealerships towards the end of fall.
