Wheels Boutique Mercedes-AMG GT S Edition 1

Unveiled as a replacement to the SLS AMG Gullwing, the 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT is as low-slung and wide as it ever was, but is jam-packed with new features and a new, simpler look that is more in-line with recent Mercedes-AMG models. Wheels Boutique got their hands on a GT S and decided to make this beast even more menacing. Base MSRP $130,825

Before exploring Wheels Boutique’s additions to the GT S, it is important to know about the base vehicle first. Underneath the body is an aluminum space frame, weighing in at just 509 pounds before the addition of the engine, interior, body, and the rest of the car. The entire exterior has been redesigned in order to improve aerodynamics, thus enhancing the performance and cooling for the engine. Because the Mercedes-AMG GT S is an Edition 1 model, there are some features included that were not on the standard AMG GT. These additions include a factory-fit body kit consisting of a prominent front lip spoiler, rear spoiler, and side skirts. Wheel Boutique then gave the GT S a new pair of shoes, with a custom set of ADV5.2 Track Spec CS rims, each measuring 20 by 9.5 in the front and 21 by 12 inches at the back. These new wheels are finished in matte bronze in order to contrast with the primary color theme of the whole car.

Inside the luxurious cabin, gloss black detailing along with other numerous special features can be found in the interior. Every one of these additions enhances the overall look of the GT S. One of the most prominent features inside the GT S is a distinctive “Edition 1” plaque, setting this AMG GT S apart from all of the rest.

Under the hood, a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine produces a whopping 510 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, which is all directed to the rear two wheels. All of this power paired with the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission will get the GT S to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and will climb to a top speed of 193 mph.
