FPV GT F 351
The Ford Falcon was a sedan designed by Ford for the Australian market in 1960. In 1972, the Falcon XA Series was completely built, manufactured and sold in Australia. Over 3,000,000 Falcons had been sold up until 2003 in only the Australian, New Zealand and South African markets.
For 2014, the special edition Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) GT F 351 Falcon has been revealed with new performance upgrades and more power.
Unlike the standard Falcon, the GT F receives a full body makeover ranging from a revised front end to a new rear and quad exhaust. Other features include 19-inch wheels, and a central black racing stripe.
The GT F is available in five distinct body colors.
Inside the GT F receives a minor refresh including custom embroidered leather seats, FPV racing instrument clusters, and custom badging.
Under the hood is a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 capable of producing 477 hp (351 kw) and 420 lb-ft (570 nm) of torque. The GT F also comes with an over boost function that provides an extra 15 percent of power “if the prevailing conditions are favorable.”
With the special over boost feature, the Falcon is capable of producing up to 549 hp (404 kw), all managed through the use of a six-speed manual gearbox.
Only 550 units will be available for sale (500 for Australia, 50 for New Zealand), at the cost of $77,990 AUD.
