Cadillac DTS Icon

The Cadillac DTS Icon customized concept vehicle was designed to meet the high expectations of on-the-go business executives who are accustomed to luxurious comfort and conveniences. The Cadillac DTS Icon is one of the GM concept cars debuting at the 2002 Specialty Equipment Market Association annual showcase in Las Vegas and represents the ultimate in a customized Cadillac luxury sedan.

"The Cadillac DTS Icon represents the ultimate luxury sedan," said Kip Wasenko, director of Special Vehicles Design, General Motors Performance Division. "We performed deep-dive research into luxury coaches and first-class jet airliners to determine exactly what today's business executives expect from a luxury mobile office. The DTS Icon is the direct result of that research."

The DTS Icon features enhanced rear-task lighting to enable executives to get work done. Underseat lights offer ambient lighting that prevents an isolated, boxed-in feeling. Two dual-source LCD screens with leather shade covers are conveniently located on the back of both front driver and passenger seats in order to face both individually tailored and adjustable rear seats, which are separated by a luxurious center-rear console that features rear-seat OnStar controls.

The Bose premium sound system presents a world-class aural experience. Wireless headphones offer luxury convenience and comfort, while the heated and cooled cashmere leather seats offer power massaging. Heated and cooled cup holders keep beverages at the desired temperature. Fold-out tray tables serve as an executive work desk or dining tray. Laptop computer users can employ one of two rear-seat 110-volt outlets.

While the executive labors furiously on pressing business matters in the rear seat, front occupants are not neglected. The driver has the pleasure of superb Cadillac DTS driving dynamics, while the driver and front passenger are treated to ultimate luxury. The instrument panel is wrapped in cashmere leather and trimmed with light burled eucalyptus wood and sterling silver accents. The steering wheel is heated to complement the heated and cooled front seats and cup holders.

All passengers are swathed in additional luxurious amenities. Interior components are plated with premium sterling silver. The Alcantara headliner and rear shelf make a bold statement. The medium cashmere carpeting is a closed-loop pile along with the floor mats, which are leather-bound. Laminated glass is used for improved noise isolation and enhanced security. The side doors offer "light-touch" features that enable the door to close and latch automatically with minimal effort.

The interior amenities of the DTS Icon are matched by the vehicle's exterior customized upgrades. The tri-coat Midnight Silver body color accents the rich, luxurious look of the vehicle. The grille is plated in sterling silver to further enhance exterior features. Tasteful modifications to the front and rear fascias and rocker-panel extensions, along with the addition of a custom-integrated rear spoiler further distinguish the appearance of the vehicle, which stands on 19-inch sterling silver-plated wheels and Z-rated tires.
