Fiat 500C Topolino
The diminutive Fiat Topolino inhabits the earliest memories of many European auto enthusiasts. Mr. Schermerhorn is no exception. One of his earliest automotive memories was driving in the family Topolino, and he has been attracted to the car ever since. The Topolino 500 series was one of Fiat's most popular models, and its genesis was a contest arranged by then Fiat Chairman Agnelli. The goal was for his designers and engineers to create an Italian people's car to rival that which was being produced by Porsche.
This car was auctioned off by RM Auctions in October of 2009 at the Battersea Evolution, London.
