Ford Custom Deluxe Tudor Sedan

Advertised as “50 Ways Finer,” the 1950 Fords introduced many improvements over their groundbreaking 1949 predecessors. New rotary door latches with pushbutton handles replaced pull-type openers, and the gas filler cap was relocated behind an access door. Most obvious were new parking lights, and a revised trunk handle. The top-line Custom series was renamed “Custom Deluxe” in the sales literature, although the car itself was badged simply “Custom.” The Custom Deluxe Tudor was the most popular body style, with more than 433,000 sold.

This car was auctioned off by RM Auctions in August 2009 at the Portola Hotel & Spa and Monterey Conference Center, Monterey, California.

100 bhp, 239.4 cu. in. Flathead V8 engine, three-speed manual transmission with overdrive, coil spring independent front suspension, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 114".
