Mercedes-Benz Daimler 12 hp

This car was bought new by the father of the present Lord Montagu. It was the first car to be driven into the House of Commons yard, and the first all British entry in a foreign road race, the Paris-Ostend in which it finished third in the Tourist Class. King Edward VII had one of his first motor car rides in it when still The Prince of Wales. Restored in the Museum workshops the car was priced at £ 775 when new, today's equivalent £73,222 to 2009
