BMW 750i

Aside from its groundbreaking new design, the E65 and E66 7-series short and long wheelbase sedans introduced BMW’s new iDrive system, which has since been carried over into the rest of the product line. By offering a small LCD screen display on the dash with a center-mounted controller, all of the car’s countless electronic functions could be controlled by the driver from one location. The audio and navigation systems, air conditioning, suspension settings and much more could be activated and managed from a single turn-and-push dial, simplifying the numerous capabilities of the car and improving driver safety. As such, this generation of 7-series not only proved itself more technically advanced than any that preceded it, but also remained a true driver’s car, in the great BMW tradition, with a 367 bhp, 4.8-liter double VANOS V8 introduced mid-series in 2006.

This car was auctioned off by RM Auctions in June of 2010 at the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center, San Diego, California.
