Watch this Jeep Wrangler Go for the Ultimate Joyride

Here’s a question: what’s the automotive equivalent of a playground? For sports cars, it’s a smooth ribbon of undulating track. For muscle cars, it’s an arrow-straight drag strip.  But for serious off-roaders, it’s anything that would destroy a lesser vehicle, and well…this 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon found that venue, the arid wilderness of Baja California, Mexico. But that didn’t stop it from going on the ultimate off-road joyride. Pennzoil gave famed racing driver Rhys Millen the keys to one of its test vehicles, topped up with hardy synthetic motor oil, and Millen gave it quite the healthy workout. The results are eye-opening to say the least, take a look. RELATED: This is What a 700-HP Jeep Wrangler Looks Like
The Joyride Baja film is the second installment of Pennzoil’s latest series, which first saw the all-new (and twin-turbocharged) Ferrari 488 GTB supercar slide around the streets of Barcelona, Spain. It’s safe to say Baja California—the site of the iconic Baja 1000 off-road race—was a tad hotter than Barcelona, however. Ambient temperatures during filming rose well above 120° Fahrenheit. Interestingly enough, Pennzoil informed us that the automotive star of the video, the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, was at some points the go-to support vehicle. On a few occasions, the Wrangler had to be used to coax the pursuit camera vehicles out of the deep sand. Any guesses on where the next joyride will be?
