Watch the Koenigsegg One:1 Gun for Nürburgring Record
Setting a lap record at Nürburgring is just about as good as it gets for a supercar. The famous track is where many companies do their testing and the Koenigsegg One:1 recently made an appearance there, lapping the track and getting ready to set a new record.
After an accident during a race in 2015, speed limits were set on certain sections of the track to keep everyone safe. This made setting new lap records a thing of the past, but those limits have been lifted and now it's anyone's game. Porsche set a time of 6:77 with the 918 Spyder in 2013 and now everyone wants to beat that time.
Even getting a time under seven minutes is an impressive feat. The Lamborghini Aventador SV pulled it off, but the fastest a Koenigsegg has managed is 7:34, which is a far cry from the Porsche's numbers. It looks like they have their sights set on breaking that time and the One:1 stands a good chance. It has 1,341 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque from a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 ready for the task. Watch as it tackles the track and gets ready to chase that record.
