Someone Swapped a Cummins Diesel Into This ’65 Ford Galaxie—And It's For Sale
The 1965 Ford Galaxie is a handsome example of classic design. But even though the exterior on this one may still be retro, it's what's under the hood that really counts in this case. Given a rat rod makeover, this '65 Galaxie touts a 1995 Cummins diesel under the hood. You're not likely to run into anyone else with a classic Ford like this one. The owners gave it a menacing black exterior with a satin gold roof and wheels as a nod to the original factory color scheme. Not to mention a gloss accent on all the badging. The interior received the same black treatment, other than a bit of brushed gold piping. RELATED: See Images of the 1961 Ford Galaxie Sunliner Convertible
According to the Craigslist listing, the transmission has a manual valve body and a torque converter lock for overdrive that cost the current owner $9K. The engine has a healthy amount of upgrades, and will reportedly push out 500 horsepower.
It's rolling some serious coal in the seller's photos and video (below), but he assures potential buyers that they did it on purpose and that during everyday driving it won't look like it's on fire as you drive down the road. It can be yours for $21,750.
