Star Wars and Sci-Fi Fans Should Drool Over This Modern Speeder Concept
As good as the latest Star Wars: The Force Awakens film was, you can’t deny its blatant lack of Speeders (spoiler!). You know, the hovering bikes used by both the Empire and the Republic that play a crucial part in the franchise? Yup, those are the ones. Though we may have missed them in the latest installation (Rey's speeder being the only one we saw), one designer wants to bring the iconic vehicles to life in his own way. That designer's name is Shawn Moghadam, and his idea for a Speeder for the current generation seems like something Star Wars and sci-fi fans the world over would love to have. Though Moghadam says his creation isn’t directly related to the Star Wars franchise, the inspiration is there. Rather, the Speeder Concept D was developed by a company called DCH Technologies. It won the 2077 and 2078 Los Angeles Grand Prix, as was later stolen in 2081—or so the story goes.
With a creative story to back, and a jaw-dropping design, Moghodam hopes his Speeder creation draws the curiosity of a few interested parties.

The Speeder Concept D specifically, is just one of many concepts slated to arrive before March 9th, which will then be paired to a book dubbed Concept Design Quest. We assume the story will follow the Speeder(s) in their race towards Grand Prix stardom.
It’s a unique idea, paired with an even more unique design—next step would be to see one of these babies in action in the real world.
