You Definitely Won’t Be Able to Buy A 2016 COPO Camaro

It’s pretty easy to see that the 2016 Chevy Camaro is gonna be an absolute winner, what with its updated suspension and powerful V8. But you have no idea just how desirable its drag-prepped COPO version is until you look at the order forms. According to Autoblog, over 5,500 people filled out order forms to purchase one. That may be good for Chevy, but it’s definitely a problem for buyers, considering only 69 (now 68) COPO Camaros were made available to customers. It's definitely a huge amount of orders, but it's pretty easy to see why people want one. RELATED: See Photos of the 2015 Chevrolet Copo Camaro
You Definitely Won’t Be Able to Buy A 2016 COPO Camaro
Under the hood you can opt for either a 5.5-liter V8 off the Corvette C7R race car, or a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 off the ATSV.R. Both choices come with loads of power, paired to a race-prepped suspension, and drag radials. The price, though, likely won’t be cheap. While Chevrolet hasn’t given us an official price figure, the first COPO Camaro crossed the auction block just last month, bringing in $300,000. While most of you won't be able to purchase one, the silver lining is you can at least order parts straight from Chevrolet, and build a COPO Camaro yourselves. We’ll be curious to see how Chevrolet chooses who gets one from the massive crowd of customers. RELATED: The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Zora is a Mid-Engine Supercar
