Ken Griffey Jr. Loves Speed, Owns a Porsche Carrera GT Sports Car
Ken Griffey Jr. is having an incredible 2016—and it's only the first week of the year. The ballplayer, who never once set foot in the National Baseball Hall of Fame Museum out of superstition, has been elected to join the Hall of Fame. Griffey was elected this past Wednesday and received the highest voting percentage in history with 99.3 percent of votes. That means 437 out of 440 votes cast by the Baseball Writers' Association of America were in his favor. RELATED: Watch the Scion FR-S Drift for Incredible Baseball Trick Shots
Some folks took umbrage that three people were so horrible as to not vote for Griffey, but the ballplayer took it in stride. He says he's honored to be elected and that the highest percentage is a surprise. It's typical of his character to be gracious and unassuming despite his baseball prowess.
According to Celebrity Cars Blog, Griffey also happens to be a big fan of Porsche and is co-owner of Porsche of Hilton Head in South Carolina. The Carrera GT is his favorite of the lot showing that he has both talent and excellent taste in cars.
