Watch and Fear This 1,400-HP Nissan Sleeper SUV
Supercars, hypercars, and all manner of tuned vehicles are the norm in a place like Dubai. Just as Subaru Foresters are prevalent in New England, so too are cars with over 1,000-horsepower in the UAE. Even the police force has an entire fleet of supercars that are the envy of both gear heads and police alike. Nevertheless, even though supercars have become the norm in this region, there are still times even we get surprised at things rolling around in the desert. For example. The above image is a Nissan Patrol. It is, in all respects, Nissan’s answer to Range Rover, Jeep, and Toyota’s Land Cruiser. It’s a tough, utilitarian SUV that’s sold in almost every single country but the United States, where it’s been given luxury credentials and actually rebadged as an Infiniti. This Nissan Patrol however, is anything but utilitarian or luxurious, unless you consider smoking Bugatti Veyrons a necessary daily occurrence. RELATED: Click Here to See The Nissan Juke R
The video below highlights the Patrol’s engine all too briefly, but it appears that the SUV uses a highly tuned version of Nissan’s TB48DE inline six-cylinder engine. Stock, the engine made 276 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. In this iteration, the Nissan Patrol’s engine makes 1,400 horsepower due to a monstrous turbocharger and what have to be heavily modified internals.
Nissan’s Patrol was never meant to handle this much horsepower, or really be tuned, but after watching this video, why not? If Porsche and Jeep can make ridiculous tuned SUVs, why not have a 1,400 horsepower Nissan Patrol. We’d love one as our daily driver, sitting at the lights in complete comfort, then smashing the gas pedal and watching everyone fade into nothingness.
