$3.4 Million Lykan HyperSport is About to Get a 1,000-HP Sibling

In 2012, W Motors CEO Ralph Debbas told the world he planned to build his very own hypercar. He certainly wasn’t the first chap to make such a claim…but fast forward three years and his exceedingly rare creation has come to fruition—the Lykan HyperSport. Only seven exist in the world, each cost an eye-watering $3.4 million. With 420 diamonds encrusted in each headlight and a top speed of 240 mph…it’s not hard to see why. However, Debbas’ dream doesn’t end there. W Motors plans to launch a second car, which will debut on November 10th at the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show. Known as the Fenyr SuperSport, only 25 cars will be built per year, each boasting upwards of 1,000 horsepower. And you thought the Lykan HyperSport (pictured below) was a mad dog. Details are still sparce in the run-up to the Fenyr SuperSport debut on Tuesday, however W Motors has confirmed a few tidbits about its hard-charging hypercar. According to the company, the Fenyr will source its drivetrain from renowned Porsche-tuner RUF, which supplied the original HyperSport with a twin-turbocharged flat-six good for 780 horsepower and 738 lb.-ft. of torque. It isn’t known whether the same engine will be used, albeit in a higher level of tune, but that lofty 1,000 horsepower figure is sure to be the end result. In a press release, the company confirmed the new cars will be designed with "distinctive W Motors DNA and styling cues." It goes to suggest the broader-market Fenyr will share many of its mechanicals with the Lykan HyperSport, without some of the pricier features—diamond headlamps and holographic displays. Like the Lykan, the Fenyr SuperSport is part of an engineering collaboration with Magna Steyr Italy, which produced the original HyperSports at its Torino manufacturing facility. As W Motors is headquartered in Dubai, the company has said it plans to eventually shift vehicle production from Torino to the United Arab Emirates. Chomping at the bit for more? You aren’t alone. Tune in on November 10th when the W Motors Fenyr SuperSport bares all at the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show. RELATED: Upcoming Lamborghini Hypercar Limited to Just 20 Cars
