Oh Yes, You Can Buy Tony Soprano's Cadillac Escalade
Many of the iconic actor-vehicle associations happen on the silver screen. Steve McQueen and the Bullitt Mustang, Sean Connery and the Aston Martin DB5, Burt Reynolds and the Bandit Trans Am, Paul Walker and the F&F Toyota Supra. But that’s not always the case. HBO’s smash hit The Soprano’s executed one of the most perfect match-ups on the small screen with Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) and his 2003 Cadillac Escalade ESV, a car so well suited for the famed TV crime boss. And interestingly on November 19, that infamous Cadillac will find a new home as the Escalade crosses the auction block. Sale estimate? Between $30,000 and $50,000. According to the auction house, this Escalade ESV was one of two identical vehicles used during filming of The Soprano’s final three seasons. Leased through a New Jersey movie car company, one Cadillac was used for close-up interior shots while the other was used for exterior and driving shots. This Escalade is said to be the latter, and judging by its unblemished exterior…it’s not hard to see why.
The big Cadillac was of course Tony Soprano’s main means of transportation in the later seasons and enjoyed a significant amount of screen time with late actor James Gandolfini at the wheel. This included frequent scenes heading to and from the the Bada Bing Strip Club and Satriale's Pork Store. And who can forget the big chase scene with Phil Leotardo?

After production wrapped on the award winning series, Gandolfini signed the ESV twice; once on the sun visor, “Thanks for the truck, James Gandolfini,” and a second time above the glovebox.
In terms of great TV cars of the last decade, it’s right up there with Walter White’s Pontiac Aztek and Jesse Pinkman’s Toyota Tercel 4WD, yo. The online auction runs from November 12th to 19th.
