The Aston Martin DB10 Stops By Jay Leno's Garage

Aston Martin is undeniably linked with James Bond. For 50 years, the automaker and the spy series have had an off-and-on connection that bridges generations. Beginning with the DB5 in Goldfinger, and culminating with the Aston Martin DB10, Bond’s newest beauty will debut next month in the legendary spy’s latest film, Spectre. For the new film Spectre, director Sam Mendes reached out to Aston Martin and explained that the film needed something special, something yet to be seen. A new Aston Martin. The job of turning that vision into reality was given to Aston Martin’s lead designer Marek Reichman. Suffice it to say, he’s very much qualified to pen Bond’s new ride. His newest creation though looks ready to jump right off the screen and into your garage. And that’s partially due to the DB10 being 90-percent production ready. Before the premier of the latest Bond film, Reichman stopped by Jay Leno’s Garage to discuss the upcoming DB10 and the car’s new look. The designer stated that the car’s lines are, “about evoking power,” the power of the car, and the power of James Bond. While strictly a movie car, the DB10 gives insight into where Aston Martin’s design is headed. RELATED: Aston Martin Unveils the RapidE, Asks Tesla Who?
The DB10 uses a 4.7-liter V8 engine from the Aston Martin Vantage, and makes 420 horsepower. In total, Aston Martin only built 10 prototypes for Spectre. Some were star cars and little more than just a visage, while others like the one Leno enjoys in the video, are stunt cars and are fully working prototypes. Aside from air-conditioning. You’ll be able to catch all of the Aston Martin DB10’s stunts when Spectre debuts Nov. 6 in the U.S. RELATED: The Aston Martin Vulcan is the Multi-Million Dollar Track Car To Haunt Your Dreams
